Background: Ernie Garland was raised in central Florida and began playing guitar and singing at an early age. For many years he has led worship in local churches, played for parties and weddings, as well as performed at coffee houses, clubs and restaurants. His instruments include guitar, piano and keyboards and mandolin.
Music Styles: Ernie plays the soft rock classics from the early seventy’s to today’s pop hits. Covered artists include James Taylor, The Eagles, Gordon Lightfoot, Dan Fogleberg, The Beatles and John Denver. He also plays songs by Tim McGraw, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban and Daughtry; as well as material from his own CD: Edge of the World, released in 2008. It is available on CD Baby, itunes and at his gigs. Ernie is well versed in contemporary Christian worship music and excels as a worship leader.
Venues: Central Florida gigs have included the Lake Beresford Yacht Club, The Brickhouse Grille, Oceanside Country Club, Vienna Coffee House, Coffee Bistro 101, Bike Florida and a host of private parties and weddings. Over the past 25 years he has led worship at North Carolina conferences and at many central Florida churches including Lighthouse Christian Center, St. Barnabus, First Assembly, St Johns, Holy Presence and First Presbyterian.
