- Encouraged to draw and paint as a child, I was fascinated with art and more specifically the idea of its process from a very early age. Over the years, working as a mural artist, fine artist, illustrator, graphic designer and recently as a fine arts photographer, I have been able to draw upon skills learned in one medium to enhance the others. I approach projects first as a study of the elements or characters that will be portrayed through the work. I am a life-long student of history, particularly Florida history, and much of my work emphasizes historic components. Studying the project as well as the subject, working on a visual solution and then executing the final idea are the elements that I incorporate into a work of art. My work, in all mediums, is created with the ultimate objective of telling a story – giving voice to a visual image. Most of the time the work is a montage of images that carry out a single idea. Commercial and fine art share the common impetus, which is to identify a need – what affects people – and excite and entice the consumer or patron through visual representation. I am particularly drawn to large-scale work because it has the ability to put the viewer into the action or event.
- Vienna Restaurant and Cafe
"There is something more to coffee than its caffeine stimulus, its action on the taste-buds of the tongue and mouth. The sense of smell and the sense of sight play important roles. To get all the joy there is in a cup of coffee, it must look good and smell good, before one can pronounce its taste good. It must woo us through the nostrils with the wonderful aroma that constitutes much of the lure of coffee."
- Swamp House River Front Grill
If you’re looking for a relaxed night out with friends to share some appetizers and cold beer, this is a great place to do so. Other weekly activities at the Swamp House Grill are Monday Trivia Night and Thursday Karaoke. Live music every weekend.
Located just below the Swamp House Grill is the Happy Snapper Tiki bar (so essentially the Swamp House Grill is a 2 story place) where you can also enjoy great cocktails and of course, just as above in the Swamp House Grill, amazing sunsets on the St. Johns River.
