Ernie Garland: Press

When Ernie Garland climbed up Looking Glass Rock in North Carolina several years ago, the DeLand resident and musician was inspired to write his song, "Edge of the World." That song became the title track of Garland's new CD, a collection of light rock and folkie pop that also includes his original song "Princess in Disguise," the traditional spiritual "Wayfaring Stranger," the classic "Will the Circle Be Unbroken" and Christian pop-rocker Phil Keaggy's brooding "Sunday School." Garland, who plays guitar, keyboards and mandolin, will perform during a CD release party at 7 p.m. tonight [11/14/2008] at the Coffee Bistro 101, 101 N. Woodland Blvd., DeLand. Information: 386-747-0698.

It was such a wonderful evening when Ernie performed at the Bistro. What a talented musician! Everyone sat around, relaxed and found themselves singing along with him. While he was singing, we all were reminiscing about what we were doing when the songs were popular. Ernie’s music is calming and peaceful. We are looking forward to Ernie being a regular performer at the Bistro.

Ernie performed for Bike Florida in 2007 as our opening act on the third evening and then again as our main performer at our end-ride party in 2008. He was well received by our 700 plus participants. They enjoyed his playing and singing and we look forward to having him in years to come.

If you are looking for a special performer for your event, you should contact Ernie. Ernie played and sang for my daughter's wedding and reception. He was friendly, professional and accommodating. We received many compliments on his performance. Everyone enjoyed listening. I can't say enough times how happy we were that we found Ernie to play at our event. Thank you Ernie.
